Lara Bingle and Sam Worthington have had baby boy after actor’s sister cast doubt the couple had welcomed first child

It was a case of have they or haven’t they this week when the word was Lara Bingle and Sam Worthington had welcomed their first child.

But it seems any doubts the pair were proud parents were finally laid to rest on Saturday, with a number of U.S. media outlets breaking the news of their offspring’s arrival.

According to E! News the pair welcomed a baby boy into the world a few days ago.

‘Their families came in and they’ve been staying at his place,’

They added to the publication: ‘Sam couldn’t be happier.’

Reports first surfaced the pair had welcomed their child on Monday and Tuesday.

But then Sam’s sister, Lucy Edwards, cast doubt on the news telling people on her Facebook page who were congratulating her on being an aunty, that the baby hadn’t yet arrived.

One of her friends posted:  ‘Hi Lucy Edwards! Congratulations to your brother for his new baby.’

But Lucy was quick to nip the rumours in the bud, writing back: ‘Sorry *****…no arrival.’

But then less than 24 hours later, Lucy wrote on their mother, Julia’s Facebook page that she was ‘feeling happy’.

However it seems there is no doubt now she has a new nephew, with People also confirming the birth and that the proud parents had welcomed their first child at the Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles

Lara’s publicist declined to comment on the reports when contacted by Daily Mail Australia.

The 27-year-old model welcomed their baby boy into the world at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles – it is still not confirmed what day the happy arrival occurred.

There is no word yet on what the celebrity couple have called the bub.

Lara had recently been seen spending time with Sam, 38, in California ahead of the big day, her blossoming baby bump on show.

The couple have form for keeping the public guessing when it comes to their private life – Lara and Sam spent months refusing to say whether they had tied the knot.

But on Tuesday, around the same time news was breaking suggesting she was a new mum, the polarising beauty all but confirmed her marriage to Sam via her blog website,The Base By Lara Bingle.

Writing about a new range of makeup brushes she was road-testing, she wrote: ‘My husband is extremely happy because the bathroom now has the beginnings of order!’

Her pregnancy was heavily speculated for months, beginning in October when she was spotted shopping for baby clothes in West Hollywood.

Around the same time, the former reality TV starlet aroused more suspicion while promoting skincare line The Base – as she would make her public appearances wearing outfits that kept her tummy covered.

Lara’s pregnancy was confirmed in late January when the beach babe showed off her baby bump for the first time in a white T-shirt while holidaying in Palm Springs.

Meanwhile, rumours have separately been swirling of a marriage between the beautiful blonde and Avatar star Sam.

The speculation was directly sparked by the entrepreneur, who in late December changed her Instagram name to Lara Bingle Worthington.

She rang in the New Year at the gorgeous Maldive Islands, leading to ideas that the vacation served as the couple’s honeymoon, and throughout the month visited Istanbul, Budapest and Switzerland.

In November she foreshadowed her cryptic social media activities, opening up on her thoughts of Twitter and Instagram to Marie Claire and explaining:

‘I think there’s no mystery anymore. Everyone knows everything…sometimes it’s nice to not know things.’

Everything appeared to be business as usual for Lara on Sunday, who posted a pretty shot of a beach in Los Angeles to her Instagram account.

She and Sam have been dating since 2013, and early last year she relocated from Sydney to New York with the Hollywood action star.

Welcoming his first child comes at a big time for Sam, who will be reprising his role as Jake Sully for the upcoming sequels to Avatar, the highest grossing film of all time, in the coming years
