Blur are releasing a new album and now rumours have it that Noel and Liam are set to reform Oasis next year.
What year is this? 1995?
The Gallagher brothers have reportedly reached a gentleman’s agreement, according to UK outlet The Mirror, to reform next year.
Meanwhile, Blur are set to release their first album in 12 years, The Magic Whip, next week – so a Britpop revival may truly be on the cards.
It’s not the only inklings of a reunion rumour from the Oasis camp.
Liam Gallagher recently posted a photo to Twitter of his backstage pass to his brother, Noel’s, gig.
His attendance could have served as an interesting olive branch considering the brothers’ acrimonious split in 2009.
In a statement at the time, Noel said: “I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer” after reports the brothers ended up in a fight backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
However, Noel recently showed a change of heart when he admitted he would considering reforming the band for financial reasons. “If I was ever going to do it, it would only be for the money,” Noel told Q in January.
Since their split, neither has managed to reach the dizzying heights they had together and Liam’s last band, Beady Eye, split last year.
