The NSW Police Force is known for their clever use of social media, but we think this one takes the cake.

They have issued an urgent (and very amusing) warning to Australians watching the drama unfold on this season of Married At First Sight.

Why? To help us all avoid a speeding ticket!

“Saying ‘MAFS is on at 7:30!’ won’t get you out of a speeding ticket tonight. Slow down,” the police force posted.

There’s no doubt that Married At First Sight is the most popular show on Australian television at the moment, with its premiere episode on Monday attracting a whopping 1.15 million metro viewers.

“We are delighted that audiences have embraced the new season of MAFS,” Nine’s program director Hamish Turner told Mediaweek.

He added, “The numbers across both linear and digital have delivered above expectations, particularly in the key demos we focus on: 25-54s, 16-39s and grocery shopper+child.”

Married At First Sight continues tonight at 7:30pm on Channel Nine.
