And just when we thought Nick Cummins was done with reality TV and intrusive cameras in his face…

It seems the rugby player wants to fix his reputation, by returning to the exact same source that ruined it in the first place.

New Idea reports that the Honey Badger will jet off to be part of the new I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in South Africa.

Now we know the man has a penchant for running overseas when the media scrutiny gets tough, we didn’t see this coming.

Are we being too harsh?

“Nick is still under contract with the network and is keen to win back the public’s approval so it’s the perfect opportunity,” a source told the magazine.

“The network bosses see him as a Shane Warne-style character who will – hopefully – redeem himself in the public eye during his time [on the show].”

Perhaps if he can just relax and be himself and not feel the pressure of finding love, the outcome will be different.

Especially considering the fact that loveable former sports stars often do well on the show.

Both Freddie Flintoff and Brendan Fevola won the series in their respective seasons – and don’t we all know that they didn’t enter the jungle with a squeaky clean reputation.

Barry Hall, Dane Swan and Danny Green all placed in the top three.

All the best to the Honey Badger if that’s what happens.

We’ll be keeping a keen eye out!
