Neil Young performed with himself Tuesday night. Young visited The Tonight Show to plug his latest album and Pono, the high-resolution music player and download service, and took time out to sing a duet with Fallon, who does a dead-on impersonation of the 69-year-old singer/songwriter.
Fallon has impersonated the veteran rocker in the past and did so again Tuesday as Young joined him for a duet of his song “Old Man.” Young and Fallon were dressed in similar outfits.
Young later complimented Fallon on the impersonation, saying, “I saw you doing me before and I always thought it was unbelievable.” Young then joked about the high-profile impersonation, saying, “This is the most I’ve been on TV, ever.”
Young, backed by Fallon’s house band, The Roots also performed a song off his Storytone album called, “Who’s Gonna Stand Up.”
