‘Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbours…’ to win a Logie Award?
It’s quickly becoming one of the biggest Logie Award scandals in recent years with a Neighbours star caught trying to rig the homegrown award show.
Before you point the finger at Stefan Dennis, the actor who plays Ramsay Street villain Paul Robinson, take a look at what veteran actress Colette Mann, who plays Sheila Canning, has done.
The 69-year-old reportedly encouraged overseas fans to vote for co-stars Ryan Moloney (Toadie) and Eve Morey (Sonya) to be shortlisted to win the Aussie TV award.
It’s common knowledge that half of Neighbours fan base reside in the UK so it was only natural for them to get involved.
“I am telling all you fabulous people who love Neighbours and who do not live in Australia how to vote for the brilliant Eve Morey and Ryan Moloney for the Logies,” Mann told fans on social media.
She added: “Google whitepages.com.au and pick yourself an Australian address and postcode and Vote Vote Vote and then tell all your friends and family to do the same.
“Neither Eve nor Ryan are on social media and do not blow their own trumpets or ask people to vote for them. So I am doing it for them as I admire their talent, their grace and their attitude to the work above all else.”
This is genius .. for all of you wanting to know how to vote from overseas read below! Use the link I posted earlier today or go to https://t.co/QnttPwSBr5 #EveMoreyForALogie #RyanMoloneyForALogie @neighbours @NeighboursTV https://t.co/3xnamK8BkL

Online voting for the Logie Awards is strictly open to “Australian residents” and requires fans to enter their title, name, address, suburb, state, postcode, email, telephone, sex, age and date of birth.
However, TV WEEK editor Thomas Woodgate is confident international votes won’t be counted in the final draw.
“Look, I did see that certain actors and actresses on the show were encouraging people from overseas [to vote], but I think what people don’t know is that Roy Morgan manages the verification of all the votes on behalf of the TV Week Logie Awards,” he told News.com.au.
“What happens is once all the votes come in, a very detailed verification process is put in place, and what that does is eliminate all invalid votes, and that includes any international votes from that final tally.
“They make absolutely sure that only votes with valid contact information from local voters are valid.”
In the meantime, Ryan has been nominated for Most Popular Actor and Eve, Most Popular Actress and the coveted Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian TV.
