New York’s Central Park will host rock, R&B, rap, EDM and metal next month as the Global Citizen Festival returns for its fifth year this September.
The free-ticketed festival will feature a headline performance by Metallica, as well as guest performances from Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Yusuf, formerly known as Cat Stevens.
Martin and Coldplay headlined last year’s festival, and Martin himself is the Global Citizen Festival Curator. Vedder also appeared last year, singing Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” with Beyonce.
Chelsea Handler, Hugh Jackman, Neil Patrick Harris, Quantico star Priyanka Chopra, Salma Hayek and Seth Meyers will host the proceedings, which take place on September 24. Other acts on the bill include Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Major Lazer and Usher.
