The mother of murdered teenager Masa Vukotic has opened up about the family’s pain.

Masa, 17, was running along the Koonung Creek Linar Park at 7pm last Tuesday when she was stabbed to death.

Her mother, Natasa Vukotic, said, “The loss of Masa has left a heartache that will never heal, but her love has left us with memories that no one can take from us.

“She was a funny, intelligent and kind-hearted girl… But more than anything else, she was my loving daughter, a caring sister and a wonderful friend.

“She was our everything.”

Mrs Vukotic thanked the public for giving the family privacy and space to grieve.

Masa was a keen “cosplayer”, known as Princess Marci, and her family will be donating some of her favourite costumes to the Melbourne cosplay community.

Masa’s funeral will be held tomorrow at Springvale Botanical Cemetery’s Boyd Chapel.

The Vukotic family will establish a fund to help charities close to Masa’s heart.
