Mariah Carey may have another Christmas album in the works.
According to the New York Post, sources reveal the self-proclaimed “Queen of Christmas” has been asked by her new label, Epic Records, to deliver another holiday project.
Although it’s unclear if Mimi will agree to another festive set, she’s expected to release her first album in her new contract later this year.
“Mariah begins her residency, Mariah Carey No. 1s, at Caesar’s Palace on May 6. Mariah’s first release [for Epic] will be a collection of her 18 No. 1 self-penned hits with additional newly-recorded material,” her rep tells the publication.
Mariah’s 1994 holiday album Merry Christmas, which first introduced her smash “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” is one of the best-selling Christmas albums of all time. In 2010, she released another holiday album, Merry Christmas II You. This past December, she also did a series of Christmas concerts at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.
