British media group ITV studios are in talks with Seven West Media about buying its production business that makes Home & Away.

The Age is reporting that the company has been looking into the deal for several months but other players, including Disney, are looking at the company too.

ITV studios had previously looked at buying in the Australian market in 2014 before bowing out after Network Ten was purchased by CBS in 2017.

It could be big business for ITV, as Packed to the Rafters has been sold to Amazon Prime, Zumbo’s Just Desserts has a huge International audience on Netflix and My Kitchen Rules is one of the biggest formats in the work.

Home & Away also has deals that mean it airs in the UK and New Zealand.

While it’s unlikely any changes would happen to the shows straight away but as formats are sold, there could be some changes to our favourite shows.
