The Lindt Cafe has officially reopened 3 months after the Martin Place siege occurred inside.

Gunman Monis held 18 staff and customers hostage inside the cafe for 16 hours and resulted in the deaths of cafe manager Tori Johnson and barrister Katrina Dawson.

Lindt has been unsure what to do for some time now.

However Lindt Australia CEO Steve Loane has said, “Overwhelmingly, the feeling was that reopening and moving forward is the best thing to do for everyone affected,”

The cafe has placed two plaques inside the cafe for Mr Johnson and Ms Dawson.

“It was felt this was the right thing to do, to remember Tori and Katrina and their spirit.”

Sydneysiders laid hundreds of bouquets at Martin place in the days after the siege in an expression of grief and solidarity.
