Talk show host Larry Emdur’s fitness journey has paid off – he’s been named Men’s Health’s Man of the Year.

The 50-year-old, who said he embarked on his mission to get fit to give his wife, Sylvie, back “the man she married”, received the gong on Tuesday night.

As he accepted his award, Emdur cheekily quipped to his wife, “Tonight you get to go to bed with a Men’s Health cover guy and I’m okay with that.”

The Morning Show host dropped 13 kilos in his body transformation, which has led Sylvie to joke that she’s “got a new boyfriend” as her husband is in the best shape of his life.

Emdur has spoken about his new fitness regime, saying that he wished he started earlier but that he’s feeling great about it all, especially with the support of his family.

“It was one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever had in my life,” he told the Daily Mail.

“If I trained like that when I was 25 or 30 it’d be different but as an old man now, it’s much different.”
