If you’re a fan of Colonel Sanders and his eleven secret herbs and spices sold at KFC, then look away now because this story is going to make you tear up.

Hundreds of pieces of KFC’s infamous (and delicious) Popcorn Chicken has gone to waste and been left scattered across a Victorian highway after a van rolled.

The devastating incident occurred at about 2pm yesterday when the vehicle was transporting the chicken when it lost control on the Western Freeway near Ballarat.

While the lost fried chicken will surely make fans of the fast food cringe, the crash was a serious incident and has unfortunately left one man in hospital.

A man aged in his 20s suffered hip and pelvis injuries during the crash and is currently in a stable condition in Ballarat Base Hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene and a mass clean-up effort began.
