We’ve all heard of baristas at Starbucks spelling names wrong, but this is absolutely deplorable.

Richard Procter from Kent in the United Kingdom recently bought his favourite brew from a local Starbucks franchise.

But the treatment he received is completely offensive.

Richard suffers from a speech impediment and while he says he is used to being the butt of jokes – which is sad and upsetting in itself – being given a Starbucks cup with “R R R … ichard” pushed him over the edge.

Taking to Facebook, the Kent local slammed the franchise for disrespecting him in such an unnecessary and public way.

To Starbucks’ credit, they did respond promptly to the post and have since begun an investigation.

The staff member in question has also allegedly been suspended from their role, according to a spokesperson from Starbucks.

“We were disappointed to hear of this customer’s experience and have been in touch directly to apologise,” the spokesperson told Yahoo.

“The actions of the partner involved were unacceptable and they have been suspended pending further disciplinary action.

“We aim to provide a warm and welcoming environment for all of our customers, and plan to provide additional awareness training for our store partners in future.”
