The world is still in shock following the death of beloved pop star George Michael who was tragically found dead on Christmas Day by his partner.
While Police described his death as “unexplained but not suspicious” it’s been revealed the 53-year-old suffered heart failure.

Michael’s manager, Michel Lippman, confirmed the cause of death to The Hollywood Reporter

Now, there are claims the popstar had been battling a secret heroin addiction, which had recently landed him in hospital following an apparent overdose.

“He’s been rushed to A&E (accident and emergency) on several occasions,” a source told the UK paper.

“He used heroin. I think it’s amazing he’s lasted as long as he has.”

In recent months the 53-year-old was rarely spotted out, reportedly struggling with his weight.

Health scares plagued the popstar. In 2011 Michael nearly died from pneumonia. Doctors were forced to perform a tracheotomy to keep his airways open. He made a tearful appearance outside a Vienna hospital telling the press it have been “touch and go.”

Just 18 months later he was back in hospital, after receiving a head injury following a bizarre incident on a UK motorway.

Michael’s long-term partner Fadi Fawaz has revealed how he found the popstar’s body in bed and that the pair had planned to spend the day together.

“We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed. We don’t know what happened yet,” he said.

“Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I.

“Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was — he was a beautiful person.”
