The UK’s highest court has stated that Boris Johnson broke the law when he asked the Queen to suspend Parliament.
The Supreme Court has handed its judgment which states Prime Minister Boris Johnson's advice to the Queen to suspend Parliament until 14 October was unlawful

Johnson had suspended, otherwise known as prorogued, parliament until October 14, just 17 days before the UK is due to leave the European Union.
It is now likely that Parliament will return tomorrow.
