Ever since her lifestyle blog launched, Gwyneth Paltrow has been under fire over and over again.

But this time, she may be putting her fans at risk.

On her GOOP blog recently, Gwyneth suggested that women try and put jade eggs up their downstairs areas.

She claims that the $66 rocks would boost orgasms, vaginal muscle tone, hormonal balance, and ‘feminine energy’.

Paltrow and her ‘beauty guru/healer/inspiration/friend’, said women should clench the egg inside them all day to exercise their pelvic floor muscles.

However, gynaecologist Dr Jen Gunter has warned that the advice is nonsense and could actually increase the risk of bacterial vaginosis or deadly toxic shock syndrome.

‘I read the post on GOOP and all I can tell you is it is the biggest load of garbage I have read on your site since vaginal steaming,’ Dr Gunter wrote in an open letter to Gwyneth Paltrow on her blog on Tuesday. ‘It’s even worse than claiming bras cause cancer.’

She continued saying ‘I have been asked by so many people about your vaginal rocks that I felt it necessary to drop you a line,’ Dr Gunter wrote.

‘The claim that they can balance hormones is, quite simply, biologically impossible. Pelvic floor exercises can help with incontinence and even give stronger orgasms for women, but they cannot change hormones. As for female energy? I’m a gynaecologist and I don’t know what that is. How does one test for it? Organically sourced, fair trade urine pH sticks coming soon to GOOP for $77 I presume?’

So, maybe stay away from the rocks..
