Where would we be without Netflix?

The streaming giant has changed the way we consume TV forever, making binge watching a thing and stealing viewers away from cable service providers in their millions.

According to the numbers, we love ourselves a bit of Netflix original content.

We absolutely devour shows like Orange Is The New Black, House Of Cards, Making A Murderer and Narcos.

And now it seems there will be one more show to add to the ever expanding list of epic Netflix shows.

The Get Down will be dropping on August 12th and it’s the most expensive Netflix show to date.

Romeo & Juliet’s Baz Luhrmann is an executive producer and Nas and Grandmaster Flash are also both involved.

It’s been over two and a half years in the making and the 12 part series has cost an eye-watering $160 million AUD to make.

It tells the story of the last days of disco and the rise of hip-hop in 70s New York.

And guys… It looks AMAZING!
