Ellen Degeneres has confirmed Kim Burrell will not appear on her show after a video showing the singer performing a homophobic sermon went viral earlier this week.

DeGeneres took to Twitter telling fans, “For those asking, Kim Burrell will not be appearing on my show.”

I love my @HappyHippiefdn hoodie and the person who made it, @MileyCyrus. #ivoted #happyhippie

The singer was supposed to appear alongside Pharrell Williams to perform their song “I See a Victory” off the soundtrack for Hidden Figures. Following  online backlash, Degeneres chose to cancel the performance.

The video that caused wide-spread condemnation shows Burrell delivering a sermon at the Love and Liberty Fellowship Church International in Houston, Texas. Burrell is heard calling the LGBTQ community “perverted” and implies they will die in 2017 because of the “homosexual spirit.”

“Everybody in this room who’s filled with the homosexual spirit, beg God to free you,” she said in the video.
“You play with it. What does that mean? You’ll die from it. You play with it in God’s house in 2017, you’ll die from it,” she continues.

Following the backlash, Burrell told fans on Facebook she would “make no excuses or apologies” for her words. The post was later deleted.
