This flu season is deadly.

This year’s death toll has risen to 26 people in Victoria, including three children.

This time last year, zero people had died.

Not only is the flu more deadly than last year, it’s more prevalent.

In the past five months there have been 10,683 confirmed cases of the flu in the state, while last year the total was 11,607 for the entire year.

Health officials are urging people to get vaccinated, frequently wash your hands and to stay home when unwell.
