Aussie cricketer David Warner has made a mad dash from the cricket ground to the hospital over in England as his wife Candice gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and the couple’s third child.
Australia had just won against New Zealand during the 2019 Cricket World Cup when he rushed to his wife’s side as she delivered their third daughter into the world.
Both David and Candice shared pictures of the new addition to their family on Instagram, announcing that Isla Rose Warner was born at 10:30pm on Sunday night.
Isla is one of three daughters for the couple with big sisters Ivy and Indi.
David spoke about how proud he was in his post, letting everyone know that both mum and bub were happy and healthy.
“We welcomed our newest family member Isla Rose Warner at 10:30pm late last night. @candywarner1 was absolutely amazing. Mum and Bub doing very well and her big sisters are over the moon. #prouddad,” he wrote.
Candice also posted, saying that their little family is now complete.
“Welcome to the world our gorgeous Isla Rose Warner. Born June 30th at 10:30pm. Our little family is now complete. Ivy and Indi and so proud of their sister. @davidwarner31 your support was and is amazing. Isla we love you. #blessed,” she said.
Candice, Ivy and Indi have been in England to support David as he plays cricket for Australia.
The birth comes as Australia has a seven-day break following a win against New Zealand in their second game in the tournament on June 29.
The couple announced that they were expecting their third child on New Year’s Eve last year, with Candice posting the news to her Instagram page.
It comes following a tough year, after the ball tampering scandal in South Africa last year that saw Warner sent home and suspended for 12 months.
Candice also suffered a miscarriage, which she said in an interview with Australian Women’s Weekly was the result of the stress and abuse that her family received during the scandal.
But thankfully little Isla was brought into the world safely. Congratulations to the happy couple.
