Yesterday the Masterchef finale was overshadowed by the news that the three judges on the show would not return next season.

After 11 seasons on the popular cooking competition, Channel 10 announced yesterday that Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris couldn’t reach a commercial agreement with them.

“Despite months of negotiation, 10 has not been able to reach a commercial agreement that was satisfactory to Matt, Gary and George,” Network 10 chief executive officer Paul Anderson said in a statement.

While the news came as a shock to Masterchef fans, it appears that Ten already had a plan in place, with it being reported today that the three replacement chefs have already been reported.

According to New Idea, Curtis Stone, Maggie Beer and former Masterchef competitor Poh Ling Yeow will take over as judges.

The publication reports that the news was confirmed to them by a Masterchef insider and that Ten would make the news official sometime today.

Curtis stone has hosted numerous cooking shows throughout his years and owns his own restaurant, while Maggie Beer is a Michelin-star-winning chef and has been a regular guest judge on Masterchef over the years.

Poh on the other hand has first-hand experience within the Masterchef competition as she came runner up to Julie Goodwin in the first season of the show.

Meantime, Matt, Gary and George have taken to social media to further explain their departure from the show.
