A 10-week-old abandoned puppy with a secondary tail on it head has been taken in by an animal rescue centre in the US.

Staff at Mac’s Mission in Missouri, have called the puppy Narwhal.

They have been told there is no need to remove the extra tail, as it doesn’t cause him any pain.

Writing on Facebook, Rochelle Steffen, who runs Mac’s Mission, said that the tail serves no purpose other than making him the “coolest puppy ever”.

Narwhal is not yet available for adoption as the staff want him to “grow a bit more and truly make sure the tail doesn’t become a bother or a problem”.
