2016 finished on a sour note when the news broke that legendary singer songwriter George Michael had passed away on Christmas Day aged just 53.
Tributes flowed around the world for the much loved former Wham! star and now an incredibly memorial has sprung up on the streets of Sydney.
Artist Scott Marsh has created this amazing piece on a wall near St Peters station.

George came to Sydney several times to perform during his career, and when he visited in 2010 for the Mardi Gras he ended up staying for several months after meeting his final long term boyfriend Fadi Fawaz.
This latest tribute follows on from the amazing mural dedicated to Prince that sprung up in Sydney last year.
