Kerri-Anne Kennerley has slammed Bachelor In Paradise during a heated Studio 10 panel discussion, labelling the show “moronic”.
The television personality claims that the reality show producers only aired the passionate kiss between Alex Nation and Brooke Blurton for ratings.
Asked whether she’s ever aired a lesbian kiss on midday television, the veteran journalist did not hold back in her response.
“Seriously? They [producers] put that stuff on because it’s titillating and it’ll rate,” she replied.
Kennerley then went on to mention Bachelor In Paradise’s Paddy who has received death threats after proclaiming his desire to watch Alex and Brooke hook up.
“Stupid people with half a brain like Paddy will make those remarks, and yes he is reflecting what a whole bunch of blokes do, but it’s only there because people are going to go, ooooh ahhhh [sic]. It’s moronic!” she exclaimed.
“If people [viewers] are excited by this, that’s what they’re [producers] banking on in terms of the ratings,” she continued. “Go and do it. Fine!”
However, the Studio 10 panelist has made it clear that her comments have nothing to do with the LGBTQ+ community.
“I just think that’s titillating television that is moronic. But so is Bachelor in Paradise. But that’s just me. I know it’s the network. Sorry!”
