As more and more stories claim that Karl Stefanovic’s time on the Today show may be finally up, even his own boss has given a strong message as the shows ratings continue to sink.
Channel Nine chief executive Hugh Marks has revealed that everyone on the show – ‘especially Karl’ – needed to lift their game.
‘Clearly, it’s been a tough and challenging year for Karl and Today,’ Marks said.
‘No doubt the constant publicity surrounding issues with his personal life have had an impact on Karl, his colleagues and on the show. We can’t hide from that,’ Marks said.
‘And as a result we know there’s a lot of hard work to be done to win back the audience.’
These revealing comments come off the back of a stack of rumors that Karl may be gone for good from the show by the end of the year.
And adding fuel to the fire Stefanovic posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account which appear to address the constant speculation.
Stefanovic, 44, posed alongside his fiancée Jasmine Yarbrough, 34, his brother Peter and good friend Chris Waller saying:
‘I’m incredibly grateful for the family and friends I have in this world. It’s all that matters really. I’m so proud of them’
