Woman Stabbed At Random Inside A Melbourne Community Hall
A man has stormed into a scout hall in Noble Park and stabbed a female scout leader in an unprovoked attack, according to police.
The incident happened at the scout hall in Aenone Avenue on Monday, after a Mother’s Day event.
Police say the 48-year-old female was alone in the hall and tidying up after a function when the man entered the room at 8 PM.
Senior Sergeant Dean Hayes says the alleged offender rushed through the doors and grabbed the woman.
“There was an initial scuffle, and he put his hand over her mouth to stop her screaming,” he said.
“A fight ensued. He kicked her and jumped on top of her.”
Sen-Sgt Hayes said the man allegedly kicked her in the head and pulled her across the floor and got her in a headlock.
“She then bit his thumb. That’s when he produced a knife and stabbed her in the upper arms twice. He then went to turn the lights off, while she was then able to lock herself in the office and called her husband, who called the police.”
The man then ran off, and the victim was taken to Dandenong Hospital.
On Tuesday, police arrested a 30-year-old man at a Noble Park home in connection with the attack.
