Woman And Dog Escape From Burning Home After Arson Attack
The front door of a home in Melbourne has been set alight in an arson attack. A woman and her dog who were in the house at the time have been pulled to safety through a window.
Emergency services were called to the Chadstone home on Coolac Street last night after the home became engulfed in flames in a suspected arsonist attack.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control within about 30 minutes but say that the fire was already spreading through the roof when the arrived on the scene.
The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The home has sustained about $80,000 worth of damage in the main bedroom and living area.
Victoria Police have now opened an investigation into the fire. Anyone with information is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
