Victorian Mum To Face Court Over Murder Of Baby Daughter
A mother accused of killing her 23-month-old daughter more than a decade ago is expected to face a Victorian court.
Homicide detectives arrested a 35-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man in Echuca on Tuesday and charged them over the murder of Angela Bannister.
Angela was just one month shy of her second birthday when she died in suspicious circumstances in Echuca on July 19, 2008.
Angela's mother Tania Walker and her then-partner Daniel Simmons briefly faced Echuca Magistrates' Court on Tuesday afternoon.
Walker was remanded to appear in Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and Simmons in the same court on June 12.
An inquest into Angela's death in 2012 ruled that the child had died from injuries caused by her mother or stepfather.
