The Reason FOUR Million Won't Get Tax Back Until August

It’s tax time. The most wonderful time of the year if you get a refund or the worst time of the year if you have to pay more.

There’s just one big issue that could cause 4 million Aussies a problem when they go to do their tax.

Medibank has said it will unable to provide their annual tax statements to it’s customers by the July 15 deadline.

In a statement on Thursday, Medibank chief executive Craig Drummond said the delay was a result of customer data migration and acknowledged it was ‘’unacceptable’’.

He said ‘’I sincerely apologise to our customers for this disruption. It is important for customers to know their personal data has not been compromised. Our team is working around the clock to resolve this issue, and I want to assure customers that our focus is on minimising the impact this will have on them.’’

A spokeswoman for the insurer told News Corp that the ‘’majority of customers’’ are affected.

Medibank has gone ahead and informed their regulators of the issues but assured AHM customers they will not be affected.
