The TOP Ten Speed Cameras In VIC That Are Making MILLIONS

Figures released by the Department of Justice and Regulation have revealed the state's top 10 speeding cameras netting more than $16 million in fines in just three months. 

Drivers wound up paying nearly $900,000 after more than 3500 offences in the three months alone.

The results show that the top three sites for fines are 40km/h zones. 

Melbourne's Top Cash Cams

1. Warrigal and Batesford roads intersection, Chadstone — 12,862 fines — $3 million

2. Flinders and William streets intersection, Melbourne CBD — 12,124 fines — $3 million

3. Fitzroy St and Lakeside Drive, St Kilda — 9653 fines — $2.3 million

4. Princes Freeway, Point Cook, Forsyth Rd Bridge, Geelong-bound — 7499 fines — $1.7 million

5. Burnley Tunnel, Southbank, about 430m after the tunnel entrance, lane 1 — 6169 fines — $1.4 million

6. Exhibition and Victoria streets intersection, Melbourne CBD — 5320 fines — $1.2 million

7. Western Ring Rd, 1.6km west of Sydney Rd, Broadmeadows, lane four — 4490 fines — $1 million

8. Princes Freeway, Point Cook, Forsyth Rd Bridge, Geelong-bound — 3924 fines — $892,520

9. Burnley Tunnel, Southbank, 430m after the tunnel entrance, lane 2 — 3510 fines — $829,867

10. Maroondah Highway. about 100m west of Hutchison St, westbound, Lilydale, lanes 1 and 2 — 3416 fines — $814,464.

Department of Justice and Regulation spokesman Michael Newhouse reinforced that “Speeding, even just a few kilometres over the limit, can have deadly consequences,”.
