Ten-Year-Old Melbourne Boy Arrested
A 10-year-old boy is amongst a gang that was arrested following a five-day crime spree that ended with a police chase through Melbourne’s north.
Two homes in Mill Park were burgled on Tuesday morning, and police were searching for the getaway car involved when they spotted a black vehicle with a damaged windscreen in Valadero Court about 11 am.
The occupants tried to flee by speeding off in the stolen vehicle.
Police laid ‘stop sticks’ across the road, and three of the tyres blew out.
They made it 300 metres up the road before being surrounded by police with their guns drawn.
Two occupants of the car tried to make a run for it but didn't get far.
"A couple of them tried to get out of the vehicle and do a runner, however, we had that many police units in the area, we just converged on them, and they were all successfully arrested," acting Sergeant Meredith Grisold told Channel 7.
A 26-yearr-old man from Mill Park and a 17-year-old boy from Mill Park were arrested at the vehicle; whole a 15-year-old Mernda girl was arrested nearby.
The youngest occupant was a 10-year-old boy from Thomastown, who was arrested at the scene.
