JFK Airport Floods, Soaking Stranded Passengers' Luggage
A water leak flooded a baggage claim area at JFK International Airport in New York, soaking stranded travellers' luggage and shutting down some international flights.
Officials ordered a partial evacuation of Terminal 4, the major arrival point for international travellers.
It's been a rough week for the airport, which was packed with thousands of frustrated passengers whose flights were delayed or cancelled by the sudden bitter cold snap which gripped the East Coast.
The temperature was around -10 degrees Celsius when the flooding started (oof), and a short time later, power was lost to luggage carousels.
Video showed standing water in a large section of the terminal and water cascading down a wall in an arrival area.
The cause of the leak is unknown.
