Some Great News For Melbourne's Public Transport
It's fair to say, we'll take all we can get when it comes to good news about public transport in Melbourne!! And, the 24 hour trial that's been happening has been so successful that Premier Dan Andres has extended it for another 6 months, which means we'll have all night services through to at least June 2017!
Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allen has said that the patronage figures that have already been recorded during the trial had totally exceeded their expectations.
The Andrews government announced that the extension will cost $25 million for the transport services, and an additional $13.7 million to cover security.
It will be great to see how this 24 hour public transport gets us through a full summer!
