Samuel Johnson's Sister Connie's Devastating News

Connie Johnson has told The Project that she is ‘terrified’ of dying as her seven-year battle with breast cancer comes to its end.

An emotional Ms Johnson told the show that she expected doctors to give her alternative treatments instead she was told her body could no longer take chemotherapy.

'They told me I couldn't continue on the chemo because my organs were struggling too much.'

Ms Johnson is now struggling to comes to terms that she has to share her final moments with her two sons Willoughby, 10, and Hamilton, 9.

'I have this thought all the time where one day I'll be holding the children's hands... then I'll be gone.

'My pain will be over, and theirs will just be beginning.'

Unfortunately for Connie, she doesn’t believe Christmas is ‘on her radar’ and thinks the event she is holding today is ‘the last hurrah.’

'Over the past seven years, I've gone into some very deep pits of despair. I feel like if I wasn't focused on the Big Heart Project right now, that's where I would be',

'My health is declining quite rapidly.'

'I can't be the Mum I want to be. I just don't have the strength'.

Today, in Canberra, Samuel, Connie and the Big Heart Project will be hoping to break the world record for the most coins in a line, which currently stands at 75.4KM.

Gates are open from 7 AM and all proceeds will go to cancer.
