"Sacrificed" Infant's Body Drifted For Two Days At Sea

An infant found dead on a Gold Coast beach was allegedly "sacrificed" by her parents when they threw her into a harbour in northern NSW.

CCTV footage allowed investigators to track the family's movements in recent days - travelling from the Gold Coast to the Jack Evans Boat Harbour in NSW, sources close to the investigation told AAP.

It was there that the nine-month-old was "sacrificed", while her empty pram was left at the scene.

The naked baby girl's body then reportedly washed ashore on a Surfers Paradise beach two days later.

The two parents, as well as a toddler, were seen catching a bus at Coolangatta and returning to Queensland after the incident.

QLD Police are working with the NSW authorities to extradite the 48 year old man, who is then expected to be issued with a warrant for his arrest.

Seven news also reported that the girl's father told police that the baby was possessed by demons, prompting the tragic events that unfolded.

The family, who were homeless, were known to police and authorities and often frequented the Gold Coast and northern NSW areas.
