Police Get A Big Shock When Pulling Over Melbourne Woman

A Brookfield woman has had her car impounded after she was caught trying to fit seven people, including five children, into a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Police intercepted her on Sayers Road, Tarneit at about 5:40PM last Friday and noticed the woman and her passenger allegedly were not wearing seatbelts.

It is also alleged that four children were sitting across the backseat, with no seatbelts, and a fifth child was in the passenger seat footwell.

The driver, aged 40, is expected to be charged for unlicensed driving, failing to wear a seatbelt and offences including unrestrained children and passenger overloading.

Her vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1006.10.
