Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By Truck In Melbourne
Police are reporting that a man aged in his 50s to 60s has died after being hit by a truck in Melbourne's CBD after trying to cross Queen Street yesterday afternoon.
Investigators believe that the truck with green P-plates was travelling northbound down Queen Street at around 4:40pm Wednesday when it fatally struck the man.
Emergency services attended the scene but it is believed that the man died at the scene near Bourke Street.
The surrounding streets including Lonsdale Street and Little Bourke Street westbound were closed while police investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash but they reopened at around 11pm.
Police are now searching for anyone with information or someone who may have dash cam footage of the incident. Witnesses should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
