Passenger Leaves Car To Be Sick And Gets RUN DOWN

A Melbourne man has been killed by a truck on the Western Ring Road after stepping out a car to be sick.

The 34-year-old man had been a passenger in the back seat of a packed car on his way home from a night out when he asked the driver to pull over.

The driver steered into the emergency lane and the St Albans man stepped out of the driver's side of the vehicle, straight into the path of a passing truck.

He as rushed to hospital but died shortly after.

The crash happened on the Western Ring Road between Sydney Road and Widford Street at 1AM.

The truck driver, a 57 year-old Sunbury man, made a statement to police and was allowed to leave the scene. 

However, the driver of the car had a blood alcohol reading three times the legal limit.
