Melbourne's Weather Is About To Take A Turn For The Worse

Melbourne is set to freeze as another cold front hits us today.

The freezing conditions will bring another half metre of snow in the alpine areas. Storms are also expected in other parts of the state.

Rain will hit Melbourne this morning, before clearing with a top of 12C.

Winds are expected to hit 30km/h throughout the morning.

“Moderate to heavy falls of snow are forecast and blizzard conditions are likely at times today,” a BOM weather warning read.

Snow has already been sighted in Gordon and Trentham.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Dean Stewart said warmer weather is on the way.

“There will be an improvement in the middle part of the week with 15C on Tuesday and mostly dry. It’ll be as high as 18C on Thursday, with winds possibly returning,” he said.
