Melbourne's Most Popular Beach Closed Due To Shark Sighting
Melbourne’s most popular beach was forced to close yesterday following a shark sighting, which makes it the second in two days.
Lifesaving Victoria general manager Paul Shannon said volunteer lifesavers at St Kilda beach advised beachgoers to avoid swimming until further notice.
“They’re advising people not to be in the vicinity of the area where the shark was spotted today,” he said.
On Sunday, swimmers at Hampton beach were forced to flee the water after a shark was seen swimming close to shore.
