Melbourne Traffic NIghtmare After $110m P-Turns Rolled Out
Traffic nightmares have followed the rollout of brand new P-Turns on Swan St.
The $110 million new lanes were rolled out on Sunday, almost immediately causing traffic chaos.
The move was supposed to improve traffic chaos on Punt Road, but cars were reportedly banked up for kilometres following the move on both Sunday and Monday.
Some even reported westbound traffic stretching back as far as Kew.
Despite countless reports to the contrary, VicRoads spokesman Chris Miller suggested it all went swimmingly.
“Melburnians responded with ease to the introduction of Victoria’s first continuous flow intersection, aided by plenty of signage and special coloured line markings showing motorists the way,” he said.
“The continuous flow intersection is designed to give more “Go Time” to Punt Road, Victoria’s busiest arterial road.
