Body Found In Shallow Grave Identified As Victorian Father

Police have revealed the identity of a body found dumped in a shallow grave as Victorian father Jade Goodwin.

The man's body was discovered late Sunday night behind an abandoned farmhouse on Dandenong-Hastings Road in Tyabb.

Police have also said that the 39-year-old father of two daughters had not been seen for since October 13.

Mr Goodwin lived with his cousin, Melanie Grass, in Hastings which is only seven-minutes from the place where the body was discovered.

Ms Grass has told 9NEWS that Mr Goodwin seemed to have "a lot on his mind" before his disappearance.

Friends and family have since posted their devastation at the death of their "special" mate to social media.

"I was very blessed and lucky to have met you. You really were one of a kind," Joanne Davey wrote.

"I pray they find who took your life Jadey and when they do I pray justice is done," she added.

It has not yet been revealed who discovered Mr Goodwin's body at the derelict farmhouse.
