BREAKING: Barnaby Joyce To Step Down As Deputy PM
Barnaby Joyce has resigned the Nationals leadership, as his party investigates an allegation of sexual harassment which he denies.
The Nationals leader has announced that he will go to his party on Monday morning where he will step down as leader and therefore also relinquish the role of Deputy PM.
Following fresh allegations of sexual assault Mr Barnaby said: “I'm standing down in interest of party and family, I'll fight this"
Joyce says the latest allegations made against him are “wrong” but concedes they are “so so damaging”.
The allegation was allegedly filed by a woman from Western Australia.
“The Federal Party can confirm a formal complaint has been received,” said Nationals Federal Director Ben Hindmarsh in a statement.
