A GENIUS Has Reviewed Nearly ALL Of Alidi’s Christmas Food

Christmas is an excruciatingly expensive time of the year, so earlier this month we were more than a little stoked when fifteen of Aldi’s Christmassy products were compared to items found at David Jones and Aldi came out shining!

Just as Christmas gets closer and our bank accounts are starting to look mighty low, one of the geniuses over at GoodFood has reviewed Aldi’s Christmas food range and ranked them all.

This is the best! Because it means we can get better bang for our buck!

Here are some of the very best and worse…

THE BEST
SPECIALLY SELECTED VINTAGE CHRISTMAS PUDDING 700G, $13.99, RANKED 8.7/10

"Aged for 12 months and hand-made in the Hunter Valley, this pudding is boozy, rich, fruity and full of spice."

specially selected luxury hazelnut encrusted panettone 750kj, $14.99, ranked 7.7/101

Good Food dig it. "Especially the hazelnut icing. To hell with using a knife on this Christmas cake. Tear it apart and dig in home-made zabaglione"

frozen extra large tiger prawns 1.5kg, $39.99, ranked 7.5/10

"Meaty tiger prawns from Western Australian waters. Thaw the dudes out and they're ready to ride shotgun with a six-pack on Boxing Day"

THE CAKE STALL SALTED CARAMEL MINI STEAMED PUDDING, TWO PACK, $3.99, RANKED 7.2/10

undefined

"Close the blinds, press play on Gilmore Girls, and eat these straight from the tub"

THE worst
Specially selected marzipan filled rounds, 210g – orange, $4.99, ranked 4.1/10

“I’ve always suspected chocolate and orange have an abusive relationship and these sickly sweet discs are further evidence on the case”

Berg Glazed Ham Portions, $16.99, Ranked 2/10

“Oh dear. Manufactured meat…you could maybe dice them up and used in fried rice, but in a no universe is a “ham portion”  a table centrepiece”

Specially Selected Luxury Iced All Over Christmas Cake, 1kg, $15.99. Ranked 3.4/10

“Wedding cakes in the ‘80s had less icing than this. So thick. So sweet. Does anyone actually enjoying eating these things?”
