Australians Warned Of Dealing With This Company

The consumer watchdog is taking online ticket reseller Viagogo to court, accusing it of duping customers about how much they'll really pay to get into big-name concerts and sporting events.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has started action in the Federal Court, alleging Viagogo is guilty of misleading or deceptive conduct for failing to disclose "significant and unavoidable fees up-front in the ticket price".

Those fees include a 27.6 per cent booking fee for most events, and a handling fee, with the reseller also accused of misleading customers by claiming tickets to popular events are scarce and about to run out.

Recently, artists like Ed Sheeran and Adele have stopped people from reselling through Viagogo by cancelling all tickets sold on the site.
