Hooters Are FINALLY Changing Their Trademark Outfits!

Hooters as we know it is about to change. With Aisa in its sights the company is being forced to change its revealing outfits overseas to ensure its more culturally friendly.

With over 430 outlets across the world, the chain is hoping to expand its restaurants in Asia. Singapore and Thailand already host a Hooters, but with plans to open the restaurant in 30 other locations this year, including predominantly Muslim countries like Indonesia, the tight tank top and short orange shorts are set to go in place of shirts with higher necklines and longer skirts with thicker stockings.

“We are still Hooters but we recognise that if we want to be a part of the community, we have to adapt to be embraced,” Neil Bailey, the president of Hooters Asia told Singapore’s Channel News Asia

“So, as opposed to the attitude of ‘We are here and get used to it’, we say ‘We’d like to be here. Is this acceptable?’”

After receiving some advice from local leaders in Jakarta, the President of Hooters Asia said it's found a way to be 'culturally respectful.'

“We showed them our website and said: ‘This is who we are. We know this is not acceptable so what would be acceptable?’” Bailey said.

“They gave us some suggestions and we asked for some time to work on them," he continued.

The new outlets will also see an introduction of local flavours like sambal sauce and a halal friendly menu. The restaurant's windows will also be tinted so passersby can't look in.
