GOLD104.3 is a proud partner of Leader Community News, Sports Star program - celebrating and rewarding the best in local sport and the tremendous successes of junior and senior athletes across Melbourne.

The program recognises the achievements of athletes in a wide variety of individual and team sports as well as those who train, mentor and encourage athletes through support roles.

Now in its 40th year, Leader has recognised over 13,000 outstanding local athletes and future stars. Including: Cadel Evans, Pat Cash, Lauren Burns, Meg Lanning, Shane Warne, Brooke Hanson, Lydia Lassila, Michael Klim, Aaron Baddeley and Dante Exum.

Sam Greatorex is a 17 year old swimmer with several national and international competitions and medals under his belt. He's recently been named Deaf Sports Australia's Male Athlete of the Year!

Just 2 years after first getting involved in dead lifting, Amanda Brown holds the national record for her weight class. At just 160 cm tall and weighing in at 57 kg the trainer lifted 110 kg on her first ever attempt, and set the record in Sydney, lifting 168.5 kg.
