A woman in rural NSW is lucky to be alive after the car she was travelling in crashed into a petrol station bowser causing it to ignite.

The woman's 90 year old husband who was driving the car was able to escape after he lost control of his vehicle, however his wife was unable to get out of the car.

Fortunately two men working across the road sprinted to the scene and were able to drag her to safety as flames licked at the car and threatened to cause a giant explosion.

The fire was soon put under control and luckily no one suffered any serious injuries.
