New Horror Flick Based On Scariest Story We've Ever Heard

Have you ever heard that scary story that starts with a dad being woken up by his child screaming?

He goes into the bedroom and tries to calm his son down after the nightmare, but the kid is convinced that there's a monster underneath the bed.

Eventually, if only to get his son to go back to sleep, the father gets down on the floor and looks under the bed - only to see his son looking back at him.

"Shush," the second boy says. "The monster is up there."

Chills, right?

Well The Hatred has taken that short story and gone nuts with it, resulting in what we're predicting to be the scariest movie of the year.

And we're not the only ones; at The Golden Trailer Awards the film went up against the likes of Get Out, IT, The Conjuring 2 and Annabelle 2 and WON, with critics saying they'd never be looking under the bed again.

It's set for a September release but, in the meantime, check out the clip above; we legitimately couldn't watch the whole way through.
